Shipping packing: Branded or Neutral.
As specialists in the field of fulfillment, we are often asked about the importance of designing a shipping package.
We are not talking here about the actual product packaging in which the product lies, but about the shipping packaging, which is intended to protect the product from damage during transport to the customer. Let's assume an IPhone product packaging, for example, which is beautifully designed, branded with the manufacturer's logo, an eye-catcher that further supports the experience value of the actual product. But do we need the same effort, the same external appearance for a shipping package?
As a guideline, one could say that the more expensive the content, the stronger the brand, the more worthwhile the branding. Secondly, the quantity in which the carton is produced is important. If the buyer orders in larger quantities, the price per shipping carton, including printing, will drop dramatically due to fixed cost degression. However, one should always be aware that the beauty of the outer packaging suffers from the transport route and a well-intentioned white packaging can quickly lose its cleaner image through black abrasion marks from the conveyor belts and turn into the opposite. But what about the smaller companies, the so called start ups, that are just trying to get a foothold in the fulfillment market, that just can't order cardboard packaging in high volumes? This is where we recommend printed tape! Without too high costs you can have your logo etc. printed directly on adhesive tape, which you need anyway to seal the packages. One is independent of the box itself (size/color) and can therefore choose from many different variants. With the closing the branding takes place.
